Basil Bush

This is a fantastic variety of Basil with a strong and vivid flavour contained within small and compact leaves.  We find that this variety is more robust than traditional Basil, and is fantastic in Italian dishes and tomato soup!

Basil Bush Growing Advice

Sowing Outdoors

• It can be sown outdoors directly in a sunny location when both the risk of frost has passed and the soil has warmed.  In the UK this will mean sowing from Midsummer onwards.  Sow seeds covered very lightly with growing medium, eventual spacing will be around 30cm.

Sowing Indoors

• Bush Basil can be sown indoors throughout the year, but particularly during early spring in order to get an earlier crop.  Sow into fine compost, into module trays or pots and cover thinly with growing medium.  As seedlings emerge ensure the young plants are in a bright location.  They can be transplanted outside after hardening off once the risk of frost has passed.
