A really beautiful variety that has multi-coloured foliage that looks fantastic in your garden as well as in your cooking and salads. This is absolutely one of our favourites and is lovely to grow with children.

Rainbow Chard Growing Advice

Sowing Indoors

• You can grow rainbow chard indoors from early spring onwards.  Sow into seed trays, pots or module trays thinly, at a depth of 2.5cm and cover with growing medium. Place in a bright location and keep seedlings watered as they grow and pot into larger containers if needed.  Harden off and transplant outside when risk of frost has passed.

Sowing Outdoors

• Rainbow Chard can be sown directly outdoors from mid-spring until late summer.  Sow seeds into drills at a depth of 2.5cm sowing a seed every 10cm.  Separate each row by 45cm. Cover lightly with growing medium and keep watered during spells of warm dry weather.

Ongoing care and harvest

• Whether planting out indoor sown plants, or caring for outdoor sown Chard, thin to 30cm spacing to produce larger plants.
• Crop leaves regularly to ensure regular and ongoing crops.
